1. Who we are
Readii Limited ("Readii", "we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered English learning platform providing audio-based reading programmes and cross-border business support services. We operate the website readii.co.uk and the Readii learning platform.

2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account information: name, email address, password (encrypted)
- Child profile information: child's name and age (provided voluntarily by parent or guardian)
- Payment information: billing details processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
- Usage data: lessons accessed, audio progress, pronunciation scores, learning streaks
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, access times
- Communications: emails and messages sent to us
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and manage your Readii subscription and learning account
- To process payments and manage billing
- To track learning progress and provide personalised AI pronunciation feedback
- To communicate with you about your account, subscription, and updates
- To improve our platform and services
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Legal basis for processing
- Contract performance: processing necessary to deliver the subscription service you have purchased
- Legitimate interests: improving our platform, preventing fraud, ensuring security

5. Children's data
Readii's learning platform is designed for children aged 3–12. We collect minimal data about child users. Child profile information (name and age) is provided by the parent or guardian and is used solely to personalise the learning experience. We do not use children's data for marketing purposes.
Parents and guardians can request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting hello@readii.co.uk.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate our platform:
- Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Netlify (website hosting)
- Google (fonts and analytics)
All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it as directed by us.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes, after which it is deleted. You may request earlier deletion subject to legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing

We take data security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only. Payment data is processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. The current version is always available at readii.co.uk/privacy-policy.html.
